On Cloudsurfer running shoe – Product Review

Who is On?

On AG is a young Swiss sports company based in Zurich, Switzerland that has one simple mission: make running fun. This notion is spearheaded by a team of team of sports scientists and running enthusiasts led by world-class athlete Olivier Bernhard (triple world champion and six-time Ironman winner).
The revolutionary On running shoe has already won the prestigious ISPO Brand New Award for Innovation in Sport. And it continues to garner further design and technology distinctions all over the world – most recently the Design Prize Switzerland for 2013, the Swiss Economic Award 2014 and the 2015 ISPO Gold Award for the Best Performance Shoe.
On’s ingenious CloudTec® system is patented worldwide. And just five years since their market launch, On shoes are already available from more than 1’400 specialist running stores in 25 countries in Europe, Asia, Australia and North America.

Anyone seeking a fresh start for the New Year need look no further: Swiss sports company On is bringing even more colour and award-winning design to the running world.

ZURICH, SWITZERLAND – The new colour combinations for the On Cloudsurfer running shoe are as unusual as their names. For women, the Fog/Mint and the Fuchsia/Azure option. And for men On has created new Cloudsurfer models in Dark/Flame and Wave/Cyan combinations. What hasn’t changed is what makes Ons so special: their award-winning design and their innovative cushioning system that make running a genuine delight for the body and the eye alike.

Equipped with On’s unique and patented CloudTec® system, the new On Cloudsurfers remain as light and agile as ever, and as effective as ever in converting running energy into forward momentum, both in training and in competition. That’s because the On is a running shoe which blends what no traditional running shoe has ever managed to combine: a soft sand-like landing and the kind of explosive pushoff that is usually only experienced on a genuine running track.

The On Cloudsurfer has also undergone some technical modifications to make it even better. The rubber formula used to make the unique CloudTec® sole has been further enhanced to ensure minimum wear and maximum shoe life. And the smart-foam net lining has been specifically designed to fit the wearer’s foot for optimum comfort and humidity control. So all in all, the new On Cloudsurfers really are a major step forward in every respect.

“The adaptive sole balances every pace and truly trains the running muscles,” explains Olivier Bernhard, multiple Ironman champion and co-founder of On. “The On Cloudsurfer really does encourage its wearer to adopt a more efficient running style and greater body stability. And the new colour combinations will just increase everyone’s desire to get into those training sessions!”

The Cloudsurfer weighs 260/290 grams*. Recommended retail price: GBP £120.00

The 2015 On Collection further extends to the Cloudster (for fun running), the Cloudrunner for endurance and mountain running and the Cloudracer for competitive events. Ons are available online and at over 1500 specialist running stores around the world. For the online shop and a list of On dealers worldwide, visit the www.on-running.com website.

PRODUCT REVIEW – On Cloudsurfer by Libby R4W Member

Comfort/Cushioning – Probably the most comfortable running shoes I’ve ever had. They are very light and give marvellous comfort to the heel after long runs I had no pain and no blisters. You do feel like you are gaining a boost from the rubber cushions on the soles. Material seems to be very breathable.

Responsiveness – Responsiveness overall is good and the shoe does not feel at all flat or heavy on the foot.

OVERALL – Fit perfectly and super comfortable, it literally feels like you’re walking/running on a cloud. I forgot I was wearing new trainers which is always a good sign. Excellent shoe looks like a lot of time and money has been spent on the research. Score 5/5
