I suffer from bloating after eating carbohydrates such as bread and pasta. However I run between 25 – 30 miles a week and therefore need carbohydrates within my diet to give me energy. Can you suggest any alternatives?
Bread and pasta are made from wheat. You should try to vary your dietary intake of grains as bread and wheat are mostly highly processed and commonly cause digestivesymptoms. Try millet, quinoa, couscous (made from wheat but not as processed), rice or barley. Don’t eat wheat more than once per day, unless it is an exception to the rule. You could also try a wheat intolerance test if you want to be certain (a Nutritionist should be able to do this for free using a pulse test or as a paid lab test).
