October 6th 2012 sees the 7th running of the Running4women Windsor 8k and this year promises to be better than ever!

Congratulations to everyone who came along and ran on Saturday. We were really fortunate with the weather and it turned out to be a wonderful day for racing.

The event  began with the idea of introducing women to participating in organised running events and this is still the way we operate. You will find that this event caters for all levels of ability: those who have never participated in an event before through to seasoned runners – we treat you all as equal!

Women Against Lung Cancer Campaign 2012

Faces of Lung Cancer 

Upload your picture to the Roy Castle Lung Cancer (RCLCF) Flickr page and support ‘Women Against Lung Cancer’ today.

RCLCF are calling for women who have been affected by lung cancer, directly or indirectly, to upload a picture of themselves to the ‘Faces of Lung Cancer’ group on the RCLCF Flickr page to raise awareness of a disease that claims the lives of 42 women every day in the UK.1

Lung cancer kills more women in the UK than any other cancer.1 This campaign aims to tackle these shocking statistics and encourage anybody with lung cancer symptoms, which include a constant cough, fatigue and weight loss, to visit their GP.

Pictures on the Flickr page will be used to create a flag that will be unveiled at the Running4Women Windsor 8K run at Windsor Great Park on 6th October 2012.
