The easy way to increase ginger in your life

 Athletic Elixir

New research has highlighted the potential benefits of including more ginger in the diet of athletes, ranging from improving endurance to helping with knee pain…

Three recent studies have indicated several benefits of ginger, which could be of particular interest to endurance athletes. The first1 found a potential link between ginger and decreasing body fat levels, but, perhaps most significantly for sports men and women, it also discovered that dietary ginger was able to increase the production of muscle mitochondria, the body’s energy production units (mitochondria production is normally increased in response to exercise and the more you have the better, in general, endurance performance will be. This is because mitochondria break down fuel, from carbohydrates, fats and proteins, in the presence of oxygen to create energy for exercise).

A second study2 demonstrated that ginger may be as effective as ibuprofen in controlling pain. Putting this potential pain reduction property into context, particularly for older athletes, was a third study3 which showed that ginger and echinachia had an ability to reduce swelling in arthritic knees and improve their overall function.

One of the most natural, and tastiest, ways to include a daily ginger hit in your diet is with Natur Boutique’s Organic Ginger Tea

Natur Boutique’s Organic Ginger Tea is made solely from 100% pure organic ginger and is renowned for its sweet, non bitter, taste. The reason for such an outstanding taste comes from the way in which the ginger is grown. It comes from plants grown without artificial fertilizers and pesticides in the warm tropical climate and fertile soils of Vietnam. The conditions and the fact the roots are allowed to grow slowly and naturally gives them a sweeter flavour than normal, which lends them perfectly to making tea.

To give the tea a try visit www.naturbouqiue.co.uk or ask at your local health store where the teas have an RRP of just £2.99 for a box of 20.
