A supportive sports bra that fits perfectly can make running a more enjoyable and comfortable experience. Here are some of the best running sports bras on the market.

Wearing a correctly fitting sports bra not only helps correct posture, but will help you exercise more efficiently and effectively. A good sports bra will help you feel less self-conscious about your bust size so you can concentrate on training or racing. After all, every women should be able to totally enjoy the experience of running if that’s what they love to do!

Anita Active Extreme Control (5527), £46 http://www.lessbounce.com/

An extremely popular bra for runners, the Anita Active Extreme Control performs well and looks great. Available in a huge range of sizes (cups B-H, from 30-46) it offers high impact support for all shapes of female runner. We thought it was very comfortable, with soft, wide straps, a breathable mesh back, and enough room for the shoulder blades to move freely as you run. The cups separate and encapsulate the bust for excellent support. This is the new limited edition colour “peacock” but it’s available in lots of other colours, as well as standard white and black/grey too.

Shock Absorber “Run” bra (B5044), £37.99 http://www.boobydoo.co.uk/

Shock Absorber’s Run bra probably needs little introduction, as we know it’s a firm favourite with many of you already. But newer runners might not have given it a try. It’s part of Shock Absorber’s sport-specific sports bra range, and is aimed firmly at runners, and runners only. It’s “infinity-8” support system is the result of lots of research into exactly how breasts move whilst we’re running, it offers compression style support with a high level of comfort. It opens fully so you can put it on easily (rather than over your head) and fastens at two points at the back. This results in extra support and a great racer-back design which allows your shoulders to move freely. Available in three colours, including black and white, and in sizes 28A to 40GG.

Panache Sport sports bra, £38 http://www.panache-lingerie.com/en/

This award-winning sports bra from underwear experts Panache promises to reduce breast bounce by up to 83%. It’s a firm encapsulation bra with underwired cups to separate and support your breasts. Whilst it does feel substantial, it’s also very comfortable, soft and easy to wear. It looks great, too. Sometimes a thicker sports bra will look bulky under clothes, but this definitely isn’t the case with the Panache Sport. It’s smooth and creates a lovely shape. Available in B-H cup sizes and 5 colourways (including white, black and grey).

Shock Absorber Active Multi Sports Support (B4490), £31 http://www.boobydoo.co.uk/

Whilst this bra isn’t designed only for running, we think it’s a great option for runners. It’s a combination style – compression and encapsulation – ideal for high impact activities. We found it super comfy and it looks great, too, with a racer-back design and crop-top style which creates a seamless smooth shape under clothes. It opens up fully so you don’t have to struggle to get it on over your head, and it has two fastenings at the back for extra support and bounce-reduction. Available in three colourways including black and white, and in sizes 28A through to 40GG.

Every Second Counts “Game Changer” crop, £41 http://www.everysecondcounts.co.uk/

This crop-top style bra offers medium support and a compression-style bra. We think it would be ideal for gym sessions, cross training or yoga but probably doesn’t offer enough support for running. It looks fantastic, really stylish and fun (we tested the pink and orange, but it’s also available in blue). A very comfortable, soft crop top bra with good level of support for low or medium impact, but probably not quite enough for running.
