Hi,
I am trying to get back into running after 20+ years and two children. I did try about a year or so ago but had a few colds and a bout of tonsilitis, this was followed by another medical problem which needed surgery, so my training came to an end. Now i'm ready to start again. I did find it hard to start again last time, it seemed to take ages to get into it and to feel fitter, only to be knocked back by illness so I felt I was at square one constantly, age obviously takes it toll more than I expected too! Hopefully my training will be easier and consistent this time.

Hello Chris
Well done for getting back to running. I had to take time out for surgery a few years ago but with the help of a walk/run programme, and the support of R4W, I was soon running again. Maybe a walk/run programme would help you? It will ensure you're not overdoing it and build you up gradually, allowing your body to become used to exercising again.
Good luck – keep in touch and let us know how you're doing.
