orthotics review went fine thanks.My old ones were knackered and my biomechanics has changed as well!! Need to take in my running shoes so the orthotics can be made to fit. Need a new pair of running shoes.Was running in Asics gel Kinsei.Podiatrist said they were no good for my feet! He said the way they have split the sole allows too much movement for my feet. Was told to get a shoe with a full sole. Unfortunately, all asics appear to have this split sole. The lady in Start Fitness has recommended the Nike Vomero 3+. I tried it on and it felt good;except i need a bigger size. My shoe is on order.

I have just got the last place in the Race for Life 5k in Newcastle in July.Been told it will be difficult to run this seriously for time. Will run to start ;do race; run home!! i live about 2.5miles from start.&lt;br /&gt;_________________&lt;br /&gt;There's only one thing more painful than carrying on.Giving up.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;

BUT I FORGOT !! to mention by Tuesday update too...... I lost another 3 lb at Slimming World, so total of 1 stone 6 lb now.  No wonder my walking is getting faster eh!

By the way, funny you should mention sore skin.  Having gone into vest tops for my last few runs I have a sore patch on the back of my left arm which I think is being caused by the same thing.  Oh, the hazards of trying to keep yourself fit!

Well another week nearer Edinburgh.  I think I had set in my mind that it was quite a while off and that before the moonwalk I would have the kendal starwalk and the race for life !  Well, one of them has just gone which means its countdown time and I have those wibbly wobbly nerves back (already!!).
&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
Disappointed with the quantity of exercise this week, I had three 12 hr day shifts in the middle of the week which completely destroyed half the week, but never mind, its how it goes.  My god its been so hot as well.
&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
Here's how it went anyhow.
&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;

Rest Day – just come off night shift and shattered, had to sleep most of day

&lt;span style=&quot;font-weight: bold&quot;&gt;4 mile power walk, 58 min 13 secs &lt;/span&gt;- picked up a bit of a concern here, for weeks I've been power walking with a short sleeved t shirt.  Today I wore my R4W sleeveless vest because it was so warm and the driving action I use with my arms left me really sore, it was really rubbing.  Bare skin onto fabric instead of fabric on fabric.

The Kendal Starwalk 9.13 miles, 2 hrs 09 mins through the night.
&lt;br /&gt;
Girls, this was absolutely fantastic.  What a brilliant night.  First time I'd done it and my god did I get my competitive head back on.  There were 1000 women and we all met at the local leisure centre.  We set off at midnight and I was walking with my friend sharron.  We powered our way down the street passing people by the hoards.  It was a beautiful night and we soon realised that we were going great guns, we were knocking people off left right and centre.  Saturday night through town !!! I was a bit worried about the abuse, but to be honest there were more drunks cheering us than there were being abusive which was nice.  There were quite a few pulls in the route, as you will know if you visit Kendal, its not completely flat, especially if your trying to cover over  9 miles.  The marshalls were great, plenty of them and not the best time of night to be volunteering your time.  LOADS of toilets ! When we got to about 7 miles, the course car drove past and told us that we were doing really well and that we were currently in the top 10 !   Well, we were WELL CHUFFED and it spurred us on even more.  I knew we'd passed loads of people and no one has passed us, anyhow, we got back and were told that we'd both finished in the top 10 and it had taken us 2 hrs 9 mins !   Don't think i've ever gone that fast in training !!! It was brilliant!  There was a cup of tea waiting for us, big stall with loads of fruit, bananas, oranges, apples... and then a very welcome hot bacon butty ! and a goody bag.  - home in bed for 2.45 am.  -  Thanks for your good luck messages girls!

Why can't I use the smilies in my journal?
