Could you tell me how I could avoid leg cramps? On Sunday 11th I ran in the Royal Parks Half Marathon (great race loved it) but at about mile 13 both backs of lower legs started cramping. I finished OK but had the same problem in a training run before the race.

I am a Beginner – Please Help Me!

Firstly what is the difference between running and jogging? Some training programs have running and jogging listed – is it just pace/speed at which you run? Secondly – what actually is a ‘race pace’? I mean how fast to you have to be going. At the moment I run so slowly, I have to fight like crazy to keep running for just 5 minutes continuously! Do I need to think about pace or just build up my continuous time?

I have been running short distances since the beginning of summer, and in October I started training for a half marathon in March. I had some knee and foot pain so had gait analysis at a shop was told I overpronate and bought some moderate support shoes last week.
